Audi R8 Spyder V10 2010. AUCTION FINISHED

This is a 2010 model with 55,000 miles

It's a reflection of the burgeoning Audi range that the new Audi R8 V10 Spyder you see here is comfortably over £100k. When launched this R8 was the most expensive regular series production Audi ever, at £112,500, so it'd better be good. But the omens are good. We love the R8, but for Audi as a brand to bring out a supercar that goes head to head and bash the 911 right out of the box, well that was something else to see.

The Italian V10 has slotted into the R8 coupé and now the Spyder, meaning the only way to enjoy the open-top Audi supercar experience is to have the bigger engine.

Look at the spec sheet and you'll be left in no doubt the convertible R8 is certainly on the supercar list. Top speed is just under 200mph, but 62mph passes by in 4.1sec. With a massive 518bhp and a V10 this thing sounds as good as you imagine it would. Yes the engine in the V10 is much heavier than the V8 but the extra almost 100bhp means 0-62 times are 0.2 sec quicker.

So, in short this car is very fast, but it's also involving to drive. The R8 steers with a delicious precision and weight that tells you just enough about what's going on and it's fast-geared enough to enable some fun through tighter corners.

This is a wonderful car, that opens its soul at the drop of the roof, and shares the cadences of its charismatic V10 at the twitch of your toe. The R8 still feels and looks mighty special even three years after launch and the arrival of the Spyder only polishes an already brilliant car.

This example of a 2010 Audi R8 V10 Spyder is a thrilling and sophisticated drop-top supercar, presented in excellent condition and with a smart factory colour scheme of the stunning colour that is Suzuka Grey (looks white). It is powered by a mid-mounted naturally aspirated 5.2-litre V10, which produces 518bhp at a heady 8,000rpm, paired with the R-Tronic six-speed semi-automatic transmission with paddle shifters. This car has had a Miltek exhaust (£1600) professionally fitted to now show 600 bhp.

The car was first registered in September 2010.The car is free of dents and damage, this R8 Spyder’s sleek, sculpted bodywork is finished with Suzuka Grey paintwork, which is original to the car and is described by the seller as having no visible defects and only very small marks from road use. Elsewhere, all of the car’s trim and badging is present and correct and the headlight lenses are bright and free of chips and scratches.

The electrically-operated black fabric hood is also in very smart condition, with no damage or fading, and fits snugly over the frame. It rides on its original twin five-spoke gloss black 19-inch wheels, which are in great shape, Pirelli P Zero tyres, with size 235/35 R19 on the front and 305/35 R19 items on the rear. All four are described by the seller as being in good condition and appear to have plenty of tread remaining

Looking to the interior, smooth black leather covers the car’s door cards, dashboard and sports seats, accented by white stitching, which reflects the body colour. Overall, the cabin presents very well, with only minimal marks, including some creasing and light wear to the seats, some small marks on the dashboard leather and slight scuffs on the plastic sill covers – all commensurate with the car’s age and mileage. It is equipped with the Audi Navigation Plus system, as well as heated seats and air conditioning. All of the interior buttons, switches and electrical items are described as working without fault.

Mechanically, this R8 Spyder is in very good condition, having been carefully maintained and with a consistent main dealer and specialist service history.
