Ford Focus RS Turbo 2003. AUCTION FINISHED

This Ford Focus RS is a great example of the hot hatch of the early 1990s. Under the vented bonnet is a 2.0-litre turbocharged Cosworth YBT engine, producing 227bhp and 224lb-ft of torque in standard form. This power is transmitted via a five-speed manual transmission. They only came in the 3 door version painted in Imperial Blue it might have looked like a Focus, but with its extended arches and aggressive look it was whole different car from the original Focus.
Fords philosophy for the RS was to seem to throw as many named brands from the rally scene at the car as possible with the likes of OZ alloys, Brembo brakes, Sparco seats, AP racing clutch, dampers by Sachs to name but a few.

The odometer reads 79,899 miles.
First registered on March 2003, this RS Focus is an original, UK-market car. Following a period in storage the car made its way to the current vendor in 2020, having recorded 7 previous owners prior to that.
Presented in its original colour of Imperial Blue, the Focus has a deep shine to the finish. There is some minor stone chipping to the front end, but for a 17 year old car, the vendor tells us that this is in very good condition. In terms of condition the lower lip on the front spoiler shows signs of wear and damage and could benefit from a paint or replacement.

Supporting the mileage indicated on the odometer, the condition of the glass, light lenses and badging is all excellent, as befitting a car which has been regularly garaged. Stopping power came from Brembo 324mm ventilated discs and four-pot calipers up front, while those at the rear were solid 280mm items. Covering the brakes were a set of bespoke 18-inch OZ Racing light-alloy wheels, fitted with 225/40 R18 Toyo Proxy’s low-profile tyres.
Inside the cabin there is a very blue and silver theme highlighted by a pair of Sparco high-backed seats, trimmed in blue and black leather and Alcantara. This theme is carried to the throughout the interior with aluminium pedals and bespoke dials with a flash of blue.

This cars previous owner has spared no expense in the upkeep of this car. The list of previous recent spends includes:
Cam belt, Water pump and belts changed, New clutch fitted, new turbo fitted , K&N stage 2 induction kit, H& R springs
The very good service history is listed below
2004 @ 6,784 miles
2005 @ 9,940 miles
2006 @ 15,059 miles
2007 @ 20,074 miles
2008 @ 21,116 miles
2009 @ 29,334 miles
2010 @ 38,562 miles
2011 @ 47,432 miles
2012 @ 54,914 miles
2013 @ 59,169 miles
2014 @ 65,802 miles
Now looking for its next enthusiast owner, this RS Focus will be sold with its service history booklet featuring 10 stamps, and numerous servicing receipts, and a number of old MOT certificates. Although not quite at the Cossie cult status yet, given a few years I’m sure they will achieve their place in the RS hall of fame.
